A 20-year-old Kerr County resident is in jail after authorities say he hit his 6-month-old daughter.
On Friday, just before 11:30 p.m., investigators with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office went to University Hospital in San Antonio after it was reported that the infant girl had injuries to her face and skull, according to a press release from KCSO.
During the investigation, it was determined that the girl’s father, Joseph Bayliss, got angry and struck her in the face with his fist while at a home in the 300 block of Green Oak Drive.
Bayliss told police he was frustrated because she “would not stop screaming,” the press release said.
He was arrested and charged with injury to a child. He is being held in the Kerr County jail on a $35,000 bond.
According to jail records, Bayliss has also been charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass, assault and has a number of traffic violations, including speeding and not using a seat belt.
