It was a beautiful morning in Kerrville, so I decided to get out the bike and travel the river trail. I hadn’t been on the trail in quite some time, so I was pleasantly surprised to see just how far the trail has been extended to the west. I can now ride from my house to the Dairy Queen with only a few blocks on quiet, neighborhood streets! I doubt that the ride can offset the DQ treat, but you get the idea.

I know there are those reading this thinking, “What a waste of money and resources,” but I imagine those are the same people who have never been on the trail, and perhaps never been on a bicycle! But to me and many others, the trail is just one more example of what makes Kerrville a good place to live. So get on a bike, strap on some skates, or just dust off those old hiking shoes and hit the trail. You just might like it.

The river trail is nice for those of us who bicycle commute though the city. It offers a safe east and west route that enables us to stay off of the streets, for most of our commutes. The trail provides a great way to get to three of our local gyms, downtown dinning and coffee, the little HEB, our library, banking, and more. Try bicycle commuting, you might have fun!
