This has long been one of my favorite months in Kerrville. The October weather (usually) cools off a bit by now, the days are crisp and comfortable, and moods seem to lighten some.

While I’ve certainly enjoyed the cooler mornings and evenings, moods seem anything but light. Judging from the calls and visitors we’ve had to the newspaper offices over the last couple of weeks, tensions are at their peak, especially as we approach the election. I’ve heard from more than one reader who’s ready for some relief.
