During the Aug. 23 commissioners court meeting, there were several homeowners who were present to speak about a mobile home subdivision being developed in Ingram, near Johnson Creek. Their biggest concerns were storm water runoff and the 100-year flood plain. The subdivision, Meadowbrook Retirement Community, has been in the works for about a year, and these issues have been at the forefront of their concerns. 

In the early stages of development, one of the neighboring property owners provided the commissioners with anecdotal evidence that the property floods. On the 23rd, one of the neighboring property owners presented a 2017 FEMA floodplain map to the commissioners, which showed that a considerable amount of the subdivision was in the 100-year floodplain by a depth of about 5 feet. It was clear the commissioners were unaware of the existence of the 2017 FEMA data.
