Cyril Blackmore Weich passed from this life on May 12, 2019. He was 85.
Born in Buffalo, New York, on November 8, 1933, Mr. Weich was the only child of Gene and Bernice Weich.
He was reared in Massillon, Ohio, and he graduated from Massillon High School in 1951. Mr Weich served as a Navy Corpsman in Korea, a chapter of his life in which he took great pride. He loved saying, “If you’re a Navy Corpsman, you never have to buy a drink or finish a fight.”
In 1959, he graduated from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin, Texas. The first part of his professional life was as a pharmacist in Austin and Dallas. Later, he served as Senior Compliance Director for the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Mr. Weich retired from that position in 2003.
He married Gail Wissemann on December 13, 2003, in Fredericksburg, Texas. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Stanley and Lillian Wissemann.
Those left to cherish Mr. Weich’s memory include two sisters-in-law, Linda Treibs and Beverly Carnes, their husbands, one niece, several cousins and countless friends.
Services are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home and will be held at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano St., on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., and the funeral service is at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Der Friedhof Cemetery.
