Kerrville could be forced to change the way it deals with sober living homes, depending on the outcome of a federal trial scheduled this fall.

The city currently regulates how close recovery homes can be to one another and licenses their creation, but a lawsuit brought by the owner of The White Lily, 1517 East Main St., wants a federal judge to declare the city’s regulations discriminatory, order the city to hire a “fair housing coordinator” and require city staff to receive training on how to comply with federal disability and housing laws.
