Kerrville native earns honor

Electronics Technician, Submarine Navigation (ETV) 2nd Class Spencer Karkosky, from Kerrville, is awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal during a ceremony outside Fluckey Hall in Yokosuka, Japan. Karkosky, who is transitioning to civilian life, was an essential part of the Operations (N3) watchteam at Commander, Submarine Group 7, supporting more than 30 forward-deployed ships and submarines in both 5th and 7th Fleets. He said the thing he will miss the most are the people he’s met and unique experiences he’s had in the Navy.
