Kerrville’s Veterans of Foreign Wars post honored Notre Dame student Natalie Wagner, at right, for her patriotic essay during a dinner on Saturday at the VFW post on Thompson Drive.The VFW also honored first responders. Kerr County Sheriff’s Deputy C. H. Schultz received the VFW first responder of the year award. The VFW law enforcement officer of the year award went to Kerrville Police Department Officer Tyler Cottonware.
