Larry Leitha, 8/1/22

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha speaks to the commissioners court during a Monday budget workshop.

Kerr County officials are considering spending the estimated $315,000 in opioid settlement monies for a mental health team and to cover patient transport costs.

The money would be from settlements related to litigation between some states, including Texas, and businesses, including Johnson & Johnson, Cardinal, McKesson and AmerisourceBergen, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc., according to information from County Attorney Heather Stebbins in April.
