The Kerrville City Council annexed land it owns near the new Hal Peterson Middle School to enable a developer to put as many as 125 homes there.

Councilmembers voted unanimously Tuesday at their regular meeting to annex about 33.81 acres in the 3200 block of Loop 534, where a future single-family residential workforce housing project is anticipated. The city and homebuilder, Lennar Homes of Texas, reached an agreement in October 2020 for the construction of at least 125 homes at the southwest corner of Texas Loop 534 and the new Olympic Drive extension. The development could start toward the end of this year.
