A jury trial has been slated next month in the case of a man accused of killing a woman with whom he reportedly was in a romantic relationship.
Robert Francis Bilunas, 49, was in the Kerr County jail on Wednesday after having been arrested Sept. 29. That day, Kerrville police officers responding to assist EMS reportedly found Xiomara Saenz, 38, unconscious. She was taken to Peterson Regional Medical Center for treatment and pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
Authorities have not specified the nature of her injuries.
Bilunas, reportedly Saenz’s boyfriend, was arrested at the scene for allegedly violating the terms of a protective order and making a terroristic threat against a peace officer, according to a news release from the Kerrville Police Department.
Bilunas is in jail on bonds totaling about half a million dollars. His pending charges include murder, violating a protective order, giving a false report to police, family violence assault, obstruction or retaliation and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
According to court records, Bilunas underwent a mental health evaluation, the sealed results of which were filed earlier this year.
A pretrial hearing and a murder trial are slated for 8:30 a.m. July 8 and 8 a.m. July 9, respectively.
