The following are summaries of Kerrville Police Department reports from June 22-29, as provided by Chuck Bocock, training sergeant for the Kerrville Police Department.
10 p.m.: Police went to the 700 block of Smokey Mountain Drive after a man said he was assaulted by his wife. He had visible injuries, and the woman had left before police arrived. She later told police she had been assaulted by her husband.
Both cases are being forwarded to their corresponding courts.
10:20 a.m.: Officers met with a woman who had driven into a park on Riverside Drive. She showed signs of impairment, and admitted to consuming alcohol and taking prescription medication. There was an open container of alcohol in the front passenger seat. She was arrested and charged with DWI, class B misdemeanor, and open container, a class A misdemeanor.
12:40 p.m.: Officers went to the 1700 block of Sidney Baker Street after a manager of a business said one of the employees had taken cash from the business multiple times. The employee, who was there, admitted to the thefts. The cases were forwarded to the Kerr County Attorney’s Office.
2 p.m.: Police went to the 1400 block of Sidney Baker Street after getting a report of a vehicle burglary. The caller said she left her car, which was locked, in a parking lot, and when she returned, it was unlocked and a gun was missing. The case was forwarded to the criminal investigations unit.
12:50 a.m.: Police stopped a car in the 500 block of Sidney Baker. The officer saw marijuana and THC oil, and the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, a class B misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony.
1:30 p.m.: Officers went to the 3300 block of Legion Drive after a man said his girlfriend assaulted him. He also said when he tried to call 911, the woman disabled the phone. He had a visible injury, and the girlfriend was arrested and charged with family violence causing bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor, and interfering with an emergency call, a class A misdemeanor.
6 p.m.: Officers went to a wreck in the 3200 block of Loop 534. One of the drivers had two empty beer bottles in the car, and the driver, who was a minor, admitted to drinking. He was arrested for driving under the influence as a minor.
12:55 p.m.: Officers went to the 1200 block of Junction Highway for a theft after loss prevention workers at a business said two suspects took more than $1,100 in merchandise.
The case was forwarded to the criminal investigations unit.
12:25 a.m.: Police went to the 200 block of Town Creek after getting a report of multiple gun shots. Witnesses said they heard gunshots and a car speeding away. Multiple casings were found in the area, and they were sent to the criminal investigations unit.
12:35 p.m.: Officers met with a man who said a hit and run occurred in the 1600 block of Broadway. A witness had left a note with the car’s license plate number. The case was given to the traffic unit.
1 p.m.: An officer was in the 1700 block of Bandera Highway when he noticed a black Audi speeding. The car did not stop when police tried to pull it over, and the car went up to 100 mph.
The car gained distance on the patrol vehicle, and the pursuit ended.
1:20 a.m.: Officers went to the 500 block of Sidney Baker Street after getting a report of a driver who had struck a pole and passed out while in a drive-thru line. The car was still in the drive-thru when police got there, and the woman showed signs of intoxication. The driver was arrested and charged with DWI, a class B misdemeanor.
The case was forwarded to the Kerr County Attorney’s Office.
