A 22-year-old Kerrville woman pleaded guilty to deleting text messages from a cell phone before police could seize it for their investigation into the 2020 death of 2-year-old Gideon Barideaux.

Two other people accused of deleting text messages to impair the same investigation still had pending felony evidence tampering charges as of Thursday. The boy’s mother also was initially accused by police of hiding evidence, but no charges appeared to have been filed against her as of Thursday.
