Infrastructure called for in a controversial power line project west of Kerrville may have alleviated the recent, storm-related outages that afflicted thousands of people in the area including Harper and Mountain Home, officials said.

Power was largely restored to residents there over the course of Sunday and the few dozen left were connected early this week. Kerr County commissioners discussed the matter during their meeting on Monday, which was attended by Bob Loth, CEO of Central Texas Electric Co-op, which serves Mountain Home and Harper. Loth said the substation called for in the Mountain Home Transmission Project “would have made a difference.”
