Residents are invited to join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those plotting penguins as they bound onto the stage in the musical adventure “Madagascar,” which opens in Ingram on Friday. 

Based on the DreamWorks animated motion picture, “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” the show follows a group of animal friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. 

The show will run from Friday to June  29, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:30 p.m.

The music and lyrics are by George Noriega and Joel Someillan, and the production will be directed by Roslyn Houghton.


Kids of all ages are welcome to attend The Point’s 2019 Summer Youth Theater Camp happening for three weeks starting June 10. Attendees can choose which five-day session they would like to attend. The event is slated Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon: June 10-14, 17-21 and 24-28. The youngsters will perform Friday’s at 12:30 p.m. 

Age groups and classes range from 5-8, 9-12 and 13-18 years of age. The cost is $125 per child, and $100 per additional child and/or additional week.
