I recently read the story of a young male who was sentenced to the death penalty for an act considered a crime for which he was not guilty. Community leaders, local residents and citizens of all ages and beliefs showed up to not only plead his case, but to beg for his life to be spared.

While their cries, protests and demands to be heard were not ignored, they did not get the outcome they had hoped for. This man was executed by the state.
