Featuring a day of jazz workshops and performing, plus a public concert on Saturday evening by the Fredericksburg Jazz Band with the following internationally-known guest artists:

Michael Davis

New York-based jazz trombonist who has toured with the Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra, recorded 11 solo albums, composed 150 pieces, and authored a dozen books for brass players.


Elias Haslanger

Austin saxophonist who has performed, recorded, and toured with Ellis Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, Christopher Cross, Asleep at the Wheel, Sheryl Crow, The Four Tops, The Temptations, and many others.


Hank Hehmsoth

A voting member of the Grammy Awards, the jazz pianist has played over 10,000 gigs in all musical genres, on Broadway, for concert tours, in symphonies, and at nightclubs.


Dr. Utah Hamrick

Director of Jazz Studies at Texas State University, he holds a Masters in Bass Performance, and Doctorate in Jazz Performance. His bands have won numerous awards, including Outstanding Collegiate Band and straight I-ratings at various festivals.


Wayne Salzmann II

Austin-based session and live drummer who has toured with guitar virtuoso Eric Johnson, Kris Kristofferson, Christopher Cross, and many others, and led master classes across the country.


The concert will also mark the World Premiere of an original Jazz Ensemble piece commissioned from renown big band composer and arranger Tom Kubis.
