Marcie Marie Grant pleaded not guilty to murder charges Thursday at her arraignment at the Kerr County Courthouse.
Grant, 48, was arrested on murder charges in October after an autopsy performed on her live-in boyfriend, Tucker Barret McDonald, 48, showed he had died because of blunt force trauma to the stomach area consistent with kicking.
McDonald was found dead in his apartment in the 2900 block of Hunt Street around 8:50 p.m. on June 12 by Kerrville police officer Nelton Spittler.
Grant later was indicted by a Kerr County grand jury and charged with repeatedly kicking McDonald in the stomach and ribs. If convicted, she faces five to 99 years or life in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
The couple had a history of domestic violence, according to a police report.
Kerrville attorney Clay Steadman has been appointed Grant’s attorney by the courts. He was unavailable for comment Friday.
A pretrial hearing is scheduled for
Dec. 16. Grant remains in the Kerr County Jail on $100,000 bond.
