Dora Garces Mendiola
SAN ANTONIO — Dora Garces Mendiola, 65, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local hospital on Monday evening, Nov. 9, 2009.
Born in Kerrville on July 13, 1944, she was the daughter of Pedro Q. and Josephine (Rodriquez) Garces. She had lived most of her life in Kerrville.
She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and sister, making her family come first.
Mrs. Mendiola was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Pedro and Jose; and a sister, Cecilia.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her husband, Erasmo Mendiola Jr. of Kerrville; her daughters, Adelina Meyners of Kerrville and Irma Garza of San Antonio; her son, Gabriel Lerma of Rocksprings, Texas; six grandchildren; four brothers, the Rev. Daniel Garces, Jerry Garces, Jimmy Garces and Henry Garces, all of Kerrville; two sisters, Lic. Virginia Castillo and Lucy Aquirra, both of Kerrville; and many nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the holy rosary will be on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be at Kerrville Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at 1 p.m. Committal service will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery, Kerrville.
The family suggests that contributions be made to the The Cancer Center, 4411 Medical Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229.
