Kerrville police, acting on a tip, received information that Jeffery Scott Graves, 39, was staying at a residence in the 900 block of Ross Street. Graves is the suspect in more than 50 burglaries in the Llano area, according to a Kerrville Police Department report.
KPD officer Martin Morris arrived at the location along with Llano County deputies and Department of Public Safety officials.
Authorities received notice Graves was in possession of a stolen Ford Explorer, which they found parked in the driveway of the residence.
Officers surrounded the residence and called the homeowners at work and got permission to enter the home.
Officers located Graves in the master bedroom of the residence and arrested him without incident.
Nine active warrants were served, including three for burglary of a habitation, theft between $20,000 and $100,000, theft for under $15,000 with two prior convictions, two for public intoxication and a failure to appear.
Graves was taken to the Kerr County Jail. The vehicle was seized and retrieved by DPS officers.
DWI suspect
apprehended after evading
KPD officer Scott Gaige was dispatched to the area near Mulligans Pub on Water Street Friday night at approximately 10:30 for an intoxicated driver who was leaving the bar on a motorcycle.
Gaige found the suspect turning left onto Thompson Drive from Sidney Baker Street and turned on his emergency lights to attempt to pull him over. The suspect continued westbound on Thompson Drive, when Gaige activated his siren.
According to a KPD report, the suspect, 46, looked in his rearview mirrors several times and continued driving westbound until he came to the intersection of Spur 98 and Junction Highway. He attempted to turn left onto Junction Highway, when Gaige tackled the suspect from his motorcycle.
Gaige noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man, and a field sobriety test was conducted at the Kerr County Jail, according to the report.
He was charged with DWI and evading arrest. The case has been forwarded to the 198th district attorney’s office.
