Woman recovering after being abducted

Published November 13, 2009

A 27-year-old woman is recovering today after being abducted at knife point and physically assaulted Wednesday morning.

According to a Kerr County Sheriff’s report, deputies arrested 21-year-old Adan Garcia early Wednesday morning and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated kidnapping, two counts of bail jumping and failure to appear, along with a felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle warrant.

The kidnapping incident occurred Wednesday night on Riverside Drive, when the woman got out of her car to unlock a gate into a driveway.

Garcia allegedly got into the vehicle at the same time the woman did, and abducted her at knifepoint, according to the report.

Garcia allegedly forced her to drive to the area near Hill River Country Estates in Center Point, where he began to physically assault her.

According to Kerr County deputies, the woman had bite marks on her body, as well as substantial bruising to her face.

“She was beaten up pretty good,” said one deputy.

A neighbor heard the disturbance and called 911.

KCSO deputies found Garcia hiding underneath the car, and arrested him on the spot without incident.

They believe the two did not know each other and the victim was random.

He was transported to the Kerr County Jail.

KCSO said Garcia is a known offender who has been in and out of jail multiple times in the past five years.

His record indicated he has been arrested at least a dozen times since 2005 on multiple offenses, including possession of marijuana, assault on a public servant, burglary of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, evading and multiple assaults causing bodily injuries.
