Igram Independent School District board of trustees will discuss the district’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas score.
The FIRST scores for all Texas school districts were released this week. Ingram, along with Center Point and Kerrville Independent School Districts, earned superior ratings from the Texas Education Agency — the highest rating possible for school district financial management.
“I’m certainly proud of the high rating our school district received,” said Ingram superintendent J.T. Stroder. “Having a fiscally sound, balanced budget is important to any school
district.”
As part of the state mandate, the FIRST scores will be discussed in detail at Monday’s meeting. Stroder said the board will be briefed on the 24 different criteria on which districts are judged.
“We are very pleased with Center Point ISD’s FIRST rating, as it shows that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars,” said CPISD superintendent Cody Newcomb.
FIRST scores have been issued to all Texas school districts since 1999. The goal of the rating system is to promote quality management of school districts’ financial resources.
