Marjorie Chilvers Roehl
KERRVILLE — Marjorie Chilvers Roehl, 88, of Kerrville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in a local care center. She was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Detroit, Mich., to Gordon and Eloise (LaChappelle) Smith. On April 11, 1942, she married Carl A. Roehl. Marjorie was a retired secretary that had worked for various companies in the Houston area, including First State Bank of Bellaire, Southwestern Industrial Electronics, Hompton C. Robinson and Gerald D. Hines Interests. Marjorie was an artist and a poet. She had a poem placed in the Centennial Time Capsule, which was read during the city of Kerrville Centennial. She was a member of the Wednesday Pointers in Ingram and president of the Kerrville Chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas. She spoke French and Spanish with ease. Survivors include her husband, Carl A. Roehl of Kerrville; children, Steven Carl Roehl of Corpus Christi and Christopher Lynn Roehl and wife, Cathy, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Kenton Gregory Roehl, Ehren Scott Roehl and Jennifer Lynn Roehl; and great-granddaughter, Julia Roehl. Memorial services will be Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at 2 p.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by the Rev. Frankie Enloe.
