George H.D. Bowen
COMFORT — George H.D. Bowen, 56, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; son, Heath (and wife Kristin) of Clermont, Fla.; stepson, Brooks Morgan of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren, Mackenzie Lee and Heath Jr.; and stepgrandson, Tyler Morgan. George also is survived by his mother, Anne MacDonald of Atlanta, Ga.; stepmother, Sandra Waite of Castelbury, Fla.; brothers, Louie Bowen (and wife Jackie) of Peachtree City, Ga., and Edward Bowen (and wife Laura) of Coalmont, Tenn.
George was a founding partner of the industrial property tax consulting firm, ICPG, in San Antonio. An avid golfer, even up to only a few weeks prior to his death, George was a member of The Club at Comanche Trace in Kerrville. George was a member of the Gaddis Memorial United Methodist Church in Comfort.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 16, at Gaddis Methodist Church. A reception will follow, with the location to be announced at the service.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or other cancer research organizations.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.
