Dovie Schellhase Braeutigam
AUSTIN — Dovie Schellhase Braeutigam was born on Sept. 14, 1925, in Comfort, Texas, and passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2009, in Austin at the age of 84. Dovie retired from the Teachers Retirement System and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine and the Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Braeutigam; parents; two brothers; three sisters; and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her son, Dewaine Braeutigam, his wife, Fern; and daughter, Carolyn Payton. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Keith Payton, Christie Ratliff and husband, Paul, Sheri Hickman and husband, Jack, Jason Braeutigam and wife, Dennise and Kelly Brinkman and husband, Jereme; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, Emeritus at North Austin and Park Bend Health Center. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to the charity of your choice or the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, Odyssey Hospice or Faith Action Caregivers in Round Rock.
