A proposed FBI shooting range, a report from LCRA about possible transmission lines and a decision on the downtown pavilion project are just several of the items on a loaded agenda when Kerrville City Council meets tonight at 6 at city hall.
Council will hear a request from Sharon Walling about a town hall meeting regarding the proposed shooting range at the Kerr County landfill. No decision on the project has been made. City manager Todd Parton expects the city’s feasibility study to take at least 60 days.
The council will consider taking a position on proposed LCRA transmission line routes extending from Comfort to San Angelo.
The city will hear a proposal submitted by councilman Scott Gross to finish the downtown pavilion project with a loan from the city.
The request asks the city to “make improvements to the partially completed downtown pavilion to make it safe for pedestrians and to install a roof. This would make the structure available for fundraising.”
Estimated costs to finish the project are $120,000.
Other agenda items include:
• Possible creation of a historic district to be established along the River Trail corridor.
• A resolution updating the master plan for the Kerrville/Kerr County Municipal Airport.
• Hearing a report on the results of the Municipal Convention Center financial analysis and providing direction to city staff for the execution of a contract with TXP to conduct a feasibility study.
• Possible adoption of the Central Kerrville Development Corp.’s proposed downtown strategic plan and directing city staff to begin implementation in accordance with city master plan.
