Representative retains committee spots

Republican congressional leaders have announced that Rep. Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio, will retain key positions on three House committees.

Smith, who has represented the 21st Congressional District since 1987, will serve on the House Homeland Security and House Science committees. He also will serve as the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee.
