Officials: Meth on the rise in Kerr County

In the last two months, meth possession charges led to the arrests of at least 13 people in Kerrville and the indictments of 12 others by Kerr County grand juries. At least nine more people either received deferred adjudication probation or were convicted of meth possession or dealing in the last two months.

Editor: Dangerous drug has toxic effects on users, community

About four months ago, Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer approached the Kerr County commissioners, requesting funding to add a new deputy to help fight what he described as an increase in local use and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
